The sale was a challenge as we needed it conducted in a discrete manner and off market, but Nick was still able to find many interested parties, which resulted in a suitable offer being forthcoming very quickly. I first heard of Signature Homes described as a boutique agency specialising in selling premium properties. At first I was extremely sceptical that a small agency could sell my mothers' property after a number of large, and some nationwide companies, had previously failed.
However, after meeting with Nick my scepticism waned a little, and I agreed my mother should 'take a punt' with Signature.
My negative view soon softened further with a steady stream of viewings and a variety of offers. Although the typical issues and problems arose; buyers withdrawing, long chains and irritating delays of all kinds, Nick was professional throughout.
It was clear that Signature's approach of handling a small number of properties at any one time worked. Whenever contacted, Nick was always able to speak clearly about the status of the sale.
It was clear Nick's previous business experience drove his demeanour and presentation; far less fluffy than most in real estate and it was refreshing.
Where Nick further shone was in navigating the tricky balance of keeping my 80+YO mother informed whilst not over stressing her. The family was kept in the loop whilst she was always treated as the client.

From the beginning of the process when viewing the property it was clear that this team do their homework prior to viewings as he could answer all our questions without the standard estate agent ‘I’ll get back to you on that’. We were able to take our time looking round without the pressure of another buyer queuing up behind us (which has happened previously during this busy sales period!).

We had tried Estate Agents before and not really got on very well. Signature Homes was, from the outset, clearly different. Many agents passively sell homes - which amounts to not much more than listing it on Rightmove then waiting for the phone to ring.
Signature Homes approach was to get to know us and the house first and to think of ways of actively marketing it. We knew that only certain types of people would be interested so Caroline and Ollie discussed the sort of profile of the ideal buyer. This was a smart move as it kept away people who were never going to be interested in (in our case) a listed building that still needed a certain amount of work doing to it.
To sell a large complex house that has 350 years of history takes a diligent understanding of detail and a realisation that what is being sold is a life-style. Having clarified our approach to the market Caroline Deeprose organised for a 3-minute promotional video to be shot in the house to give a sense of the size, layout and possibilities it might offer a buyer.
The video was very professional, beautifully shot and, to our minds, the best way to position and differentiate the home in the market. The video offered a taster of what to expect so that internal desirable features might get to the fore - rather than the dry facts and figures.
Throughout the process Caroline and the team did a superb job of keeping in touch, keeping the dialogue going about marketing and worked in the background to find the right people to come and look. There was no sense of waiting but one of active engagement with a market they know well.
Throughout the process we dealt with Matt and Ollie, Directors of Signature Homes and Giggs and Co as well as Caroline. Emma is their dedicated sales progressor and became invaluable after the sale was agreed. Emma has the most unenviable job of all - chasing progress during the contract process once we had received an offer. Signature Homes value its clients to an unprecedented level which is something that is appreciated very much by me. They took the time to understand what my requirements were and as a result supported them all of the way through the process. If any problems or concerns (or as I would say ‘opportunities’) came along then that was owned too.
